These 5 Qs Could Save Your Next Website

Hi Reader,

I hope summer has been treating you well & you’ve been able to enjoy some sunshine! Summertime is usually more laid back at Tracy Mak Studio, which gave me the chance to explore partnering with some social media management companies to lighten my workload and keep things running smoothly.

As a one-woman show, I realized that I need some backup for some of my business tasks. While I am capable of creating social media posts, it’s not what I’m passionate about and I felt like my time could be utilized elsewhere in my business.

Not Just Any Help—The Right Help

As I was interviewing companies to partner with, I realized that as a marketer myself, I had some unique questions to ask. Things like “Can I have rights to the graphic templates?” or “Is it a conflict of interest that we both provide web design services?”

The same can be said of health and wellness practices. There are unique questions you should ask before you partner with a web designer. Here are 5 to get you started:

  1. What’s your experience with therapy or health & wellness websites?
  2. Are you familiar with HIPAA regulations for websites?
  3. How do you approach brand strategy and messaging?
  4. What’s included in your web design process?
  5. Do you offer SEO and content optimization?

For the full list and explanation of why you should ask these questions, click here.

Website Care Client Spotlight

I’d like to take a minute to shine a spotlight on Centennial Park Counseling! They are one of our most recent website redesign projects. They needed a more modern, on-brand website that gave them more flexibility to add features in the future. Since launching earlier this year, they’ve made big strides into the digital marketing world by blogging more consistently and including QR codes to their marketing materials that lead people directly to their website. Keep it up, CPC!

Your Voice Matters and I’m All Ears

I’d love to hear from you! I only want to take up space in your inbox with information that is helpful and enjoyable to you. Since you’re the reason I create it, I’d love to hear what you’d like to see more of in future issues. It’ll only take a few minutes — and your feedback will help shape the tips, stories, and resources I share with you. Anyone who completes this 5-question survey will be entered to win a custom blog post about navigating grief, written by our copywriter/editor/coolest human ever.

Hey Reader, Lately I’ve been noticing how our brand values show up in places we don’t always expect. It hit me again when I accepted a LinkedIn request and immediately got a sales pitch. It reminded me of a time when I was advised to try something similar. I was reaching out to a few ideal clients with helpful website tips. My intentions were good, but it still felt strange to pop into someone’s inbox when we didn’t know each other. I kept thinking, “This just doesn’t feel like me.” After a...

Hey Reader, It’s parent-teacher conference season— aka the annual reality check for how my kids are doing in school. As I sat there listening to their teachers, it hit me: this is exactly how my clients feel when they peek at their online reviews. They’re your practice’s progress reports, written in real time. The glowing ones give you pride and validation for all your hard work. The not-so-great (or fake) ones sting, but they’re also opportunities to learn, adjust, and show integrity. Just...

Hey Reader, For years I’ve been working from my home office. I even invested in an adjustable desk and walking pad to increase my productivity. But six months ago, I realized that too much of my time was taken up by distractions around the house (piles of laundry and dishes – I’m looking at you). I took a tour at a local co-working space and to my surprise, it was just the right amount of hustle and bustle with comfortable furniture and access to conference rooms. The facility I chose also...
